Three kinds of citation gap

1. Not retrieved

Your page is not in the results the AI reads. Check that AI search bots can crawl it (AI crawler checker), put the question's wording in your title and H1, and build links and mentions from relevant sites.

2. Retrieved, not cited

The AI read your page but quoted others. This is the most fixable gap: add a 40 to 60 word direct answer at the top, question headings, specific facts and FAQ schema.

3. Cited, but lower

You are cited after competitors. Strengthen depth on the subtopics they cover, keep the page fresh and add original data they cannot match.
