How to use FAQ schema for AEO

  1. Write 4 to 10 real questions your customers ask, with direct answers of 40 to 60 words.
  2. Show them on the page as a visible FAQ section.
  3. Generate the JSON-LD above and paste it into the same page.
  4. Check the page with the AEO score checker; the FAQ and schema factors should turn green.

Rules that keep FAQ schema valid

  • Every question in the markup must be visible on the page.
  • Answers should be complete on their own; links and simple formatting are fine.
  • Do not use FAQ schema for advertising or for content users cannot see.
  • Use one FAQPage block per page.

FAQ schema FAQ

What is FAQ schema?

FAQ schema is FAQPage structured data in JSON-LD that marks up a list of questions and answers shown on a page. It makes the question and answer structure explicit to search engines and answer engines.

Does FAQ schema still help in 2026?

Google shows FAQ rich results only for a limited set of authoritative sites, but FAQPage markup still makes your question and answer content machine-readable, which supports answer engines. It must match visible content.

Where do I paste the code?

Paste the script tag into the HTML of the same page that shows the questions and answers, in the head or body. In WordPress, use your SEO plugin's schema option or a header and footer code plugin.

How many questions should I include?

Include the real questions shown on the page, usually 4 to 10. Do not add questions that are not visible to visitors.
